Located on the north end of the Myrtle Beach golfing area, Lions Paw has routinely been described as Willard Byrd’s finest work. It is the “oldest” of the cats and features two distinct but equally challenging styles.
The first 12 holes play through towering hardwoods and feature a fair amount of elevation change, while 13-17 venture out into an open area where trouble comes in the form of wind and not hills. The finishing hole combines the two looks, playing open from the tee and then flowing through the trees to the green. The greens are bent grass and are protected by deep, sugar sand bunkers.
Lions Paw is a pretty good value so keep it in mind when planning your next Myrtle Beach area golf vacation.
