Arcadian Shores Golf Club in Myrtle Beach
Created by renowned golf course designer Rees Jones in 1974, Arcadian Shores Golf Club has been a Myrtle Beach “must play” for over thirty years. Gorgeous lakes run alongside several fairways and on the odd occasion cut across the fairway. A masterful bunkering system that is in place also “litters” a handful of holes, creating quite a challenge on the popular Myrtle Beach golf course.
Well maintained tee boxes provide a wonderful introduction to beautiful tree lined Bermuda fairways that in turn offer generous landing areas. The medium size greens are Tif – Dwarf a receptive, yet strong hybrid grass that can take on almost any weather condition.
Arcadian Shores has been a proud member of the Myrtle Beach, “Grand Strand Dream 18”, with two of their holes receiving the astute recognition by The Sun News in 1997 and 2004.
The first member of the “ Dream 18” is the second hole, a par 3 that requires a long carry over water, measuring a stout 201 yards off the back tees, club selection is critical, short right or long right and you are in the drink.
The second member of the “Dream 18” is the thirteenth hole, a challenging dogleg left par 4, that measures 408 yards off the back tees, all emphasis is on the tee shot, however you may still leave yourself with a difficult second as there is roughly 100 yards of water to carry right before this green.
Even though there are water hazards on several holes, Arcadian Shores is not really a tight layout and offers five sets of tee boxes that provide a fair and enjoyable test of golf for players of all skill levels.
Easily accessible from almost anywhere in Myrtle Beach, the golf course is conveniently located close to a variety of shops and outlets in the mid beach area.
