Rivers Edge: Course of the Week
Here at Coastal Golfaway we will be starting our new course of the week segment, which will be highlighting our favorite courses of the Grand Strand. What better way to get this segment started than to talk about Rivers Edge in Shallote, North Carolina just a mere drive from the North Myrtle Beach area. 
This Arnold Palmer design has been collecting accolades ever since its inception in 1999, while being ranked a Top 5 Public Golf Course in North Carolina by Golf Digest in 2010.The very first day that Arnold Palmer gazed out across the Shallotte River, he remarked that this site had the potential to be something very special. He assigned one of his top project managers, Erik Larsen, to the job and the result is sensational.
While at Rivers Edge, you can experience playing on the same grass on which the pros play. It is one of only two courses in the Myrtle Beach area that feature Paspalum grass greens.
Six of the holes at Rivers Edge Golf Club sit high upon bluffs that overlook two miles of grassy marshlands bisected by the bends and turns of the Shallotte River. The interior holes at Rivers Edge are equally stunning with gentle elevation changes and freshwater lakes.
