If you enjoy the grip it and rip it philosophy, then the River Club in Myrtle Beach is all about you. Wide open fairways lay in wait for your booming drives. Although big hitters may have room off the tee, approach shots, no matter what distance, demand accuracy and respect as many of the River Club’s greens are well guarded by bunkers and water.
The outstanding par 5 eighteenth has to be one of the finest finishing holes on the Grand Strand, offering risk and reward to those who can carry the water twice for a possible chance at eagle. If you can hit your drive over about 230 yards of water, you’ll have less than 200 yards into the green.
True to its name, this fabulous layout features pristine wetlands, maritime forests and water on fifteen of eighteen holes with over a hundred sand traps and bunkers. Not very long at 6,677 yards from the championship tees, River Club will have you firing plenty of wedges and short irons into the green.
A Tom Jackson signature golf course, River Club features A-1 Bentgrass greens and is also the only golf course on the south end of the Grand Strand with Bentgrass greens. River Club enjoys the reputation of being one of the most challenging layouts in the Myrtle Beach area and in 2006 Golf Digest rated it 4.5 Stars “Places to Play”.
Often referred to as one of the Grand Strand’s premier “plantation” courses, River Club offers testing golf in a tranquil, low country setting and it’s not too far from all of the action in Myrtle Beach.
