The Legends Resort – A One Stop Golf Destination

The Legends Resort was created in the true feel of a Scottish Village in which everything you need is available and easily accessible; it’s a one stop golf destination. In addition to their three on-site award winning golf courses, The Legends Resort features an amazing thirty acre lighted practice facility, fabulous golf villas and their very own Scottish Tavern, the Ailsa Pub.

Legends HeathlandThe par 71 Heathland Course, designed by Tom Doak, is a return to the traditional “Olde Legends Golf Resort - HeathlandCountry” style of the game. It has been designed in the image of the British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar links courses like St. Andrews, and lesser known gems like Lahinch and Cruden Bay. Most of the holes are without high vegetation, providing a visual links type presentation like no other course in Myrtle Beach.

The challenge and difficulty of Heathland comes primarily from the unobstructed winds that constantly blow over the course, the cleverly placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely borders all fairways. Deep greenside bunkers require critical thinking and creative shots to make a good escape. The Grand Strand’s Heathland design allows players of all skill levels to “step back in time” and taste a true test of golf.

Legends MoorlandDesigned by noted golf architect P. B. Dye and opened for play in 1990, Moorland is a stoutLegends Moorland par 72 and is considered one of the toughest challenges in Myrtle Beach. Large areas of natural growth, water and waste areas combine with unexpected and sometimes punishing undulations and bulkheads to present a course reminiscent of the PGA West Stadium Course.

This controversial Grand Strand beauty is definitely a golf tacticians dream, Moorland will cause golfers to rely much more on their luck than their skill. Moorland indeed earned its designation as one of the “Top 10 New Courses of 1990,” by Golf Digest. When you play the 245 yard par-4 16th, you will appreciate why the large bunker guarding the green is known as “Hell’s Half Acre”. GOOD LUCK!!

Legends ParklandTaking its place alongside the award-winning Heathland and Moorland courses, Parkland Legends Golf Resort - Parklandoffers a distinct difference to the first two Legends courses. This golf course capitalizes on the diversity and beauty of the Grand Strand’s natural terrain with contoured, tree-lined fairways, vast natural areas, deep-faced bunkers and massive multi-level greens.

Parkland was modeled after the style of architects Alister MacKenzie, (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club). This fabulous Myrtle Beach par-72 layout demands carefully placed drives on challenging fairways and accurate approach shots into undulated greens that are well protected by deep bunkers.
