Coastal Golfaway provides access to the best golf in central Myrtle Beach

Home to some of Myrtle Beach’s best and most historic golf courses, the central area of Myrtle Beach never disappoints, with its extensive list of golf facilities that provide uniquely creative, stunningly beautiful layouts that you are sure to enjoy. More so, many central Myrtle Beach courses are included on Coastal Golfaway’s Myrtle Beach Golf Course Rankings Top 25, meaning you won’t have to travel far from the heartbeat of the Grand Strand to experience fantastic golf.

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club ranks #1 on the list. Artfully crafted by Robert Trent Jones and ranked 34th in Golfweek’s 2019 list of America’s top resort courses, The Dunes Club is continually praised as one of the best facilities in all of America. The par-5 13th has received recognition as one of the best golf holes in the country. Few courses utilize natural terrain and the Lowcountry’s stunning scenery the way The Dunes Club does. The result: a beautifully magnificent round of golf, every single time.

At #13 on the list, Grande Dunes Resort Course is located right on the Intracoastal Waterway and provides views that are sure to captivate. An award-winning design since opening in 2000, the par-72 layout can stretch to over 7,600 yards, but with six sets of tees to choose from, there are plenty of options for players of all skill levels. Generous fairways provide a welcome tee-to-green experience, and with large, undulating greens, your short game is sure to be put to the test.

Coming in at #19 is Scottish-inspired Prestwick Country Club, a timeless design by father and son duo Pete and P.B. Dye, and lined with the expansive bunkering and railroad ties that make Pete such a legend. Lakes and natural areas add to the beauty of the design, and the staff is always prompt and courteous.

Just minutes from the Atlantic, Arrowhead Country Club (#20) offers greens that are always in immaculate condition, and with three 9-hole sides to choose from – each with its own distinct character – every round is sure to be different from the last. Five holes on site run along the Intracoastal Waterway, making for a visually brilliant round of golf.

The oldest golf course in Myrtle Beach, Pine Lakes is truly “The Granddaddy” of them all. Ranked #21 on the list, its par-70 layout is traditional but remains one of the absolute best on the whole Strand. History and character are evident everywhere you look on this truly special course.
