Casa Palmero is the property for golfers who want the full Pebble Beach access without the scale of a 161-room resort. It’s the smallest, most intimate of the three Pebble Beach Resorts properties, and the closest thing to staying in a private estate while still being two minutes from the 1st tee.
The Property
Casa Palmero was originally built in the 1920s as a private residence, and it opened to guests in 1999 after being converted into a 24-room boutique hotel. The Spanish Colonial-style estate sits along 17-Mile Drive, between the 1st hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links and the resort’s spa, and it just went through a full reimagining in late 2024 that updated the rooms with rich wood finishes and black metal accents while keeping the Mediterranean bones of the original house intact.
Rooms run from 585 square feet up to the standalone Palmero Suite, and every one comes with a gas fireplace and deep-soaking tub. Ground-floor Spa rooms open onto a private patio with their own whirlpool, and the public spaces, a living room with a grand piano, a library, a billiard room, a courtyard shaded by a century-old oak, give the whole property the feel of a well-connected friend’s coastal house rather than a hotel.
The Golf Access
Casa Palmero guests get the same advance booking privileges as Lodge and Inn at Spanish Bay guests, with tee times at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill, and Del Monte available up to 18 months out. The property is a short walk or golf cart ride to the 1st tee at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and clubs and balls are provided at no charge for the on-site driving range and putting green, a nice touch for golfers who want to warm up without hauling extra gear.
What to Know Going In
Casa Palmero runs on an all-inclusive feel that the other two properties don’t quite match. Healthful breakfast baskets show up at the door each morning, and the evenings bring complimentary cocktails, wine flights, and hors d’oeuvres served in the main house. Guests also get full access to The Spa at Pebble Beach next door, a Forbes Five-Star facility with hot and cold plunge pools, steam rooms, and a glass-ceilinged relaxation conservatory, all included with the stay.
There’s no big lobby, no valet line, and only 24 rooms total, so it’s not the right pick for a large golf group looking to stay together under one roof. But for couples or smaller groups who want Pebble Beach access wrapped in genuine privacy and a heavier wellness focus, it’s the strongest option of the three.
